Clearent
A Dashboard WebApp for Merchants

Clearent is the first global platform integrating software, payments, and commerce-enabling services to help businesses thrive.

The Merchant Dashboard project was a huge undertaking with big impact. As the solo UX Designer for Clearent during the duration of the project, I was highly involved throughout the lifecycle of the project. I conducted in-person and digital interviews with Merchants and internal sales teams to ensure that I thoroughly understood the need of our users. I explored St. Louis with Sales Reps to watch our Merchants use their virtual terminal systems in person, learning from corner store shops, laundromat operators and 5 star restaurant owners.

After compiling my research the next 9 months consisted of wireframes, working prototypes, pitching to leadership, workshopping, validating and low to high fidelity mockups while working alongside the engineering team. The Merchant dashboard allows Clearent Merchants a holistic look into their business, earnings and compliance status – something they’ve never had before. Game changer.

Adding an Account User with Permissions

In order for a Merchant’s employees to have access to their credit card processing account, the primary point of contact is required to add the user and send an invite. While adding a user, the POC an accomplish the following in 3 easy steps:

  • Add user with distinct permissions

  • Decide what type of permissions the user is granted according to their title with the ability to customize per add

  • Turn Virtual Terminal access on or off per user (gives employee view only access to see device transactions from any date)

  • Turn On Reporting access (gives employee insight into transactional data)

  • Turn on Virtual Terminal Clerk access (gives employee access to make changes tip, refund, close a dispute, cancel an order, etc.)

  • Allows admins to monitor account activity among users, which includes last login date
